FAISALABAD: Police have arrested a man and his father for allegedly subjecting a woman to brutal physical violence and forcibly cutting her hair during a domestic dispute, officials said on Sunday.
Arrests Made After Complaint
According to a police spokesperson, the accused Ali Shan allegedly assaulted his wife with the assistance of his father, Mehar Ali, following a domestic disagreement. Police said the victim was subjected to severe physical abuse during the incident and her hair was forcibly cut.
On receipt of a complaint, Station House Officer (SHO) Garh police station, Muhammad Usman took immediate action and arrested both suspects. The arrests were made promptly after the victim filed a complaint detailing the assault.
Police Action and Investigation
The police spokesperson confirmed that both accused have been taken into custody and are being interrogated. A case has been registered against them under relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code. The victim has been provided with medical assistance and her statement has been recorded.
SHO Muhammad Usman stated that the police are committed to ensuring justice for the victim and that a thorough investigation is underway. He urged women to report any incidents of domestic violence without fear.
