MUZAFFARGARH: A youth went missing after allegedly jumping into the Chenab River, prompting rescue teams to launch a search operation, officials said on Sunday. Eyewitnesses reported that the youth drowned after jumping into the river. He was identified as Muhammad Umair, 22, a resident of Nai Abadi Kiyanpur Aliwala in Multan.

Immediate Rescue Response

District Emergency Officer (DEO) Obaidullah Khan stated that rescue teams began a search operation immediately after receiving the report. However, the operation was temporarily suspended overnight due to darkness and poor visibility. The search resumed early on Sunday with the assistance of rescue divers, he added.
