Saudi Arabia's Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef, along with other officials, officially launched the Mawhiba Summer program in Riyadh. The initiative is organized by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, known as Mawhiba, and will be held in 19 cities across the Kingdom and abroad in partnership with leading academic and research institutions, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Program Structure and Tracks
Mawhiba Summer offers a variety of enrichment programs, including the Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program, Mawhiba Research Enrichment Program, Mawhiba Universal Enrichment Program, Mawhiba Ambassadors Program, Game Development Program, and other technology-focused initiatives. These programs are delivered through four specialized tracks: human health; leadership in energy and industry; environmental sustainability and basic needs; and future economies. The tracks align with Saudi Arabia's national research, development, and innovation priorities.
Impact and Reach
Al-Benyan stated that the program provides gifted students with learning opportunities through 88 enrichment units in Saudi Arabia and abroad, benefiting more than 12,000 male and female students. He emphasized that the initiative reflects the strong partnership between the Ministry of Education, Mawhiba, and other stakeholders in preparing a generation capable of competing in science and knowledge-based fields.
Partnerships and Locations
The program will be conducted in 19 cities, leveraging collaborations with top-tier academic and research institutions. The Mawhiba Summer program aims to nurture talent and innovation among Saudi youth, contributing to the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals of building a knowledge-based economy.
