Police Arrest Domestic Worker, Brother for Theft of Rs2.6 Million

Police in Rawalpindi have arrested a domestic worker and her accomplice, identified as her brother, for allegedly stealing valuables from a woman's house five days ago. A police spokesperson confirmed on Saturday that the suspects are siblings and were taken into custody after an investigation that used technical surveillance and human intelligence sources.

Recovery of Stolen Items Worth Over Rs2.6 Million

Police recovered stolen items worth more than Rs2.6 million, including local and foreign currency, gold jewelry, luxury bags, watches, and other valuables. The recovered property includes one-and-a-half tolas of gold jewelry, Rs503,000 in cash, 1,400 Saudi riyals, 125 Azerbaijani manats, and 105 US dollars. Additionally, luxury handbags, watches, and other items valued at over Rs900,000 were recovered.

Details of the Theft and Investigation

Investigators said the suspects carried out the theft while the homeowners were away and later fled the scene. After the case was registered, Rawat Police launched an operation that led to the arrest of the domestic worker and her brother, along with the recovery of the stolen property. SP Saddar Anum Sher stated that the suspects would be presented before the court with substantial evidence. She emphasized that protecting the lives and property of citizens is the police's primary duty.
