Three militants were killed and one was captured alive after they attacked a Rangers camp in Pakistan, the military's media wing said on Tuesday. The assailants attempted to breach the security perimeter by detonating an explosive device at the main entrance of the facility.
Security Forces Foil Attack
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security personnel responded immediately to the assault, preventing the attackers from entering the camp. The swift action successfully foiled the attack. During the ensuing exchange of fire, three militants were neutralized, while a fourth was apprehended in an injured condition.
The ISPR identified the arrested suspect as an Afghan national. The military confirmed that three Rangers personnel embraced martyrdom during the operation, and four others sustained injuries.
Militant Group Identified
The ISPR identified the attackers as members of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, which it described as an Indian proxy group. The statement further said that Pakistan would take action against those responsible for the attack and vowed to bring everyone involved to justice.
Condolences from Military Leadership
Separately, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed his condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers, stating that their sacrifices further strengthen the nation's resolve to safeguard the country's security.
