Saudi Delegation Signs Biotech Deals at BIO Convention

A Saudi delegation led by Vice Minister of Health for Planning and Development Abdulaziz Al-Rumaih has successfully concluded its participation in the BIO International Convention in San Diego, securing strategic agreements and partnerships with leading international organizations. These outcomes support the Health Sector Transformation Program under Vision 2030 and the National Biotechnology Strategy.

Key Initiatives and Partnerships

The delegation unveiled the “Launch in Saudi” initiative, designed to accelerate access to health innovations and advanced therapies within the Kingdom. Several partnerships were signed between Saudi companies and leading international firms in pharmaceutical innovation and biotechnology sectors.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Ministry of Health also organized a roundtable focused on boosting investment in clinical trials in Saudi Arabia. The event attracted 40 leaders from global companies and international contract research organizations.

Strategic Meetings and Visits

The delegation conducted more than 30 strategic meetings and visited leading companies and centers specializing in precision medicine, digital health, and pharmaceutical innovation. These engagements aimed to promote knowledge transfer and explore investment and cooperation opportunities.

Saudi Arabia is set to host the BIO Middle East Conference from December 14 to 16, underscoring the Kingdom’s growing role as a regional hub for health innovation, research, and development. The BIO International Convention is recognized as the world's largest biotechnology event, drawing over 20,000 participants from more than 70 countries annually.
