The Punjab government under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has delivered transformative reforms in agriculture and transport, addressing longstanding grievances of farmers and students. Over the past two years, her administration distributed 30,000 Green Tractors with subsidies up to Rs1 million each, surpassing the 20,000 tractors distributed across Punjab from 1947 to 2022. This initiative includes 1,000 free tractors for wheat growers. Additionally, 8,000 tube wells are being solarized, and 5,000 Super Seeders have been distributed to promote sustainable farming. Agriculture Malls in Faisalabad, Jhang, Okara, and Khanewal now offer one-stop services for farmers.
Agricultural Reforms and Farmer Empowerment
Farmers acknowledge that Maryam Nawaz has restored their dignity through practical support rather than empty promises. The government's measures have significantly increased wheat production, with a similar rise expected in rice. In the next phase, 20,000 more Green Tractors will be distributed via transparent balloting. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to utilize Punjab's resources for public welfare, as stated by the Chief Minister.
Student Mobility and Empowerment
In education, the government distributed 2,178 electric bikes to students from both urban and rural districts without discrimination. A total of 100,000 laptops have been provided, and 80,000 scholarships awarded, with South Punjab receiving special attention in all major projects.
Global Recognition and Governance
Punjab's development initiatives have gained international recognition due to their implementation on merit, transparency, and accountability. Independent public surveys over the past two years consistently rank the Punjab government and CM Maryam at the top in governance. The government welcomes other provinces to learn from its successful initiatives, emphasizing that it is not in competition but aims to benefit all Pakistanis.
