Second Son Arrested in Karachi Father's Murder

Police have arrested a second suspect in the murder of Muhammad Iqbal in Karachi's Ibrahim Hyderi area, revealing that the suspect is also the victim's son and allegedly helped plan the killing. The arrested suspect, identified as Jamshed, confessed during interrogation that he allowed his brother, Ijaz, to kill their father, according to police officials.

Suspect's Confession and Motive

Jamshed told investigators that their father frequently beat Ijaz, who had repeatedly threatened to kill him. He claimed that although he initially tried to stop his brother, he later agreed to the plan after becoming frustrated with the situation. Police said Jamshed, who runs a grocery shop, admitted that the family hired a contract killer, Shiraz, promising him Rs15,000 and an iPhone to carry out the murder.

Details of the Murder

The victim, Muhammad Iqbal, was shot dead inside his home on the night of June 23 after the hired shooter allegedly forced his way into the house. Investigators said the murder was staged to appear as a robbery. Earlier, police had arrested Ijaz and the alleged contract killer, Shiraz. They also recovered the murder weapon, a pistol, along with a mobile phone and the motorcycle allegedly used in the crime.

Investigation Ongoing

Police said further investigation into the case is underway. The arrests have shed light on the premeditated nature of the crime, which was orchestrated by the victim's own sons.
