At least four people were killed and seven others sustained injuries during a violent clash between tribal residents and armed men in the Hanna Urak tourist area on the outskirts of Quetta on Sunday evening, according to Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar.
Casualties and Response
Minister Kakar confirmed that one of the injured individuals was in critical condition, and all wounded persons were immediately shifted to the Trauma Centre in Quetta for medical treatment. The deceased were identified as Naqeebullah, Ashraf Khan, Daud Khan, and Gulraiz Khan.
Following the incident, personnel from the Frontier Corps (FC), police, and other security agencies were deployed to the area. The minister stated that operations against the armed assailants were ongoing, with residents cooperating fully alongside security forces. Every available resource was being utilized to ensure the safe recovery of those abducted, he added.
Government Measures
The Balochistan government declared a state of emergency at all government hospitals in Quetta to ensure preparedness for any further emergencies. Authorities continued to monitor the situation closely, Kakar said.
Previous Tribal Violence
The incident comes a day after at least eight people were killed and a minor girl was injured in two separate firing incidents linked to tribal disputes in Balochistan's Qila Abdullah and Dera Bugti districts. In the first incident, four people were killed and a minor girl was injured in a firing over an old enmity in the Badwan area of Qila Abdullah district. In a separate incident in the Drenjan area of Sui in Dera Bugti district, four people were killed and one was injured in a clash between relatives over a monetary dispute.
