Gull Feroza Reprimanded for Code of Conduct Breach
Pakistan batter Gull Feroza has received an official reprimand for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during Pakistan’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match against Australia. The International Cricket Council found Gull in violation of Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to the abuse of cricket equipment, clothing, or ground fixtures during an international match.
Demerit Point Added to Disciplinary Record
In addition to the official reprimand, one demerit point has been added to her disciplinary record. It is her first offence within a 24-month period. The incident occurred in the second over of Pakistan’s innings after Gull was dismissed. According to the ICC, she threw her bat and gloves aggressively near the team dugout following her dismissal.
Sanction Accepted Without Formal Hearing
Gull accepted responsibility for the offence and agreed to the sanction proposed by Michell Pereira of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees, eliminating the need for a formal disciplinary hearing. The charge was brought by on-field umpires Sue Redfern and Vrinda Rathi, third umpire Jacquline Williams, and fourth umpire Shathira Jakir Jesy.
Level 1 Offence Penalties
Under the ICC Code of Conduct, Level 1 offences carry penalties ranging from an official reprimand to a fine of up to 50 percent of a player's match fee, along with one or two demerit points depending on the severity of the breach. Gull’s reprimand and single demerit point reflect the minimum penalty for a first-time Level 1 offence.
