VSCO Launches Studio Pro App, Plans $500/Year Subscription

VSCO Unveils Studio Pro App and $500 Annual Subscription

VSCO is challenging Adobe with the launch of its new Studio Pro editing application, which becomes available on iOS today and is expected to arrive on macOS later this year, according to a report by Bloomberg. The app introduces features such as batch editing, the ability to match styles from a reference image, and sharing capabilities through VSCO Galleries.

VSCO has announced that additional features will be rolled out in the future, including support for RAW images, advanced export options, and more sophisticated editing tools like adjusting image aspect ratios. A press release describes the app as designed for handling high-volume editing projects, such as weddings, portraits, events, sports, school photography, and other large-scale photoshoots.

The company plans to launch the VSCO One subscription later this month, priced at $500 per year. This subscription is positioned as an alternative to what VSCO describes as the fragmented approach of using separate software platforms for photo editing and business operations, such as contacting clients or delivering finished images. The price is comparable to an annual Adobe Creative Cloud Pro subscription and provides access to VSCO's suite of applications, including Studio Pro, Capture, Galleries, Workspace, Sites, AI Lab, Canvas, and its Freelance Photographer business mentorship program.
