The 27th martyrdom anniversary of Captain Karnal Sher Khan (Nishan-e-Haider), a celebrated hero of the Kargil War, was observed with profound devotion and respect on Sunday. A dignified ceremony took place at the martyr's mausoleum in his ancestral village, Karnal Sher Khan Killi, in Swabi district.
Ceremony Highlights
Inspector General of Frontier Corps Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa North, Major General Rao Imran Sartaj, laid a floral wreath on the grave and offered Fateha. A smartly turned-out contingent of the Frontier Corps K-P North presented a guard of honour to the fallen hero.
Legacy of Captain Karnal Sher Khan
Captain Karnal Sher Khan was awarded the Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan's highest military award, for his bravery during the Kargil War in 1999. He was martyred on July 5, 1999, while defending a strategic position. His sacrifice continues to inspire the nation.
