At least 40 people were killed and seven to eight others injured after a passenger coach travelling from Quetta to Peshawar plunged into a ravine in the Dana Sar area on the border of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday morning. Assistant Commissioner Zhob, Muhammad Naveed Alam, confirmed the incident, stating that initial reports indicated 40 passengers had lost their lives. The injured were being transported to Zhob by rescue teams and ambulances for urgent medical treatment.
Rescue Operations in Challenging Terrain
According to the local administration, the crash occurred in a difficult and hazardous mountainous area, complicating rescue efforts. Additional ambulances were being dispatched from nearby districts to assist with evacuating the injured and recovering the bodies of those killed. Officials said rescue operations were continuing at the scene, with emergency responders working in challenging terrain to reach victims and clear the accident site.
