A 15-year-old boy was shot dead while his elder brother escaped unhurt after unidentified assailants allegedly opened fire on them in the Kattakhel area of Dera Ismail Khan, police said on Sunday.
Incident Details
According to the First Information Report (FIR) lodged at Shaheed Nawab Police Station, complainant Naimatullah told police that he and his younger brother, Inayatullah, were near Peru Morr on the Kattakhel–Rahmani Khel Road when three men allegedly intercepted them and opened fire.
Suspects Named
The FIR names the suspects as Aslam Khan and his two sons, Munawar Khan and Imdad Ullah, all residents of Kattakhel.
Injuries and Death
Police said Naimatullah escaped without injury, while Inayatullah sustained critical gunshot wounds. He was being transported to the Civil Hospital in Panyala for treatment but succumbed to his injuries before reaching the facility.
Motive
According to the complainant, the attack stemmed from an ongoing domestic dispute between the two families.
Legal Proceedings
Police have registered a case against the nominated suspects and launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and apprehend those responsible. The allegations contained in the FIR have yet to be tested in court, and police have not released any statement indicating whether arrests have been made.
