ICT Police Bust Gang, Recover Valuables Worth Millions

Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have arrested four members of a dacoit gang allegedly involved in a series of armed robberies and recovered valuables worth millions of rupees, including mobile phones, cash and weapons, during a targeted operation by Sumbal Police. An official told APP on Sunday that, acting on credible intelligence, Sumbal Police conducted a successful raid and apprehended four suspects allegedly involved in multiple dacoity incidents in different parts of the federal capital.

Details of the Operation

The official said, according to the SP Operations, police recovered valuable mobile phones worth millions of rupees, cash and weapons with ammunition used in the commission of the crimes from the possession of the arrested suspects. Preliminary investigation revealed that the gang used to target citizens at gunpoint in various areas of Islamabad and snatch cash, mobile phones and other valuables before fleeing the scene.

Investigation Underway

The official said further investigation was underway to identify the suspects’ accomplices, recover additional stolen property and determine their involvement in other dacoity cases. Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi appreciated the performance of the Sumbal Police team and directed officers to continue operations against criminal elements without interruption.
