Security forces eliminated eight terrorists affiliated with the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan in two high-tempo intelligence-based operations in Balochistan's Kharan and Mastung districts, the military's media wing announced on Saturday.
Kharan Operation
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces received intelligence about the movement of a terrorist group in Kharan on June 25. During a precise and skillful engagement, three terrorists were killed, while several others sustained injuries.
Mastung Operation
In a separate operation the following day, security forces conducted a pre-emptive intelligence-based operation in Mastung targeting a possible suicide bomber. The ISPR stated that troops effectively engaged the terrorists' location, and after an intense exchange of fire, five terrorists, including a suicide bomber, were neutralized.
Recovered Items and Cleanup
Weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and motorcycles used by the terrorists were recovered during the operations. Sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored terrorists in the area.
Government Designation
The federal government last year officially designated all terrorist groups operating in Balochistan as 'Fitna al Hindustan', accusing India of sponsoring a proxy war through these outfits.
Continued Campaign
The ISPR reiterated that the relentless counterterrorism campaign under the vision of 'Azm-e-Istehkam', approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
Earlier Operation in Khuzdar
Earlier this month, a soldier was martyred as security forces killed 14 terrorists in the Naal area of Khuzdar district during an intelligence-based operation, thwarting plans to attack a police station and banks. The ISPR confirmed the presence of Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists in that area as well.
