FAISALABAD - City Police Officer (CPO) has taken action and registered a case against the Muharrar of Police Station Civil Line and his accomplices involved in the incident of alleged violence against employees and vandalism at Allied Hospital I, initiating legal proceedings.
Incident Details
According to details, on the night of June 12, Muharrar Police Station Civil Line, Sohail, brought his 11-year-old nephew to the Surgical Emergency Ward of Allied Hospital-I after he sustained injuries in a motorcycle accident. During this time, due to a delay in X-ray services caused by a power outage at the Mehar Abdul Rasheed Radiology Block, Sohail created a disturbance along with his associates, vandalized hospital property and subjected the staff to violence. The incident caused panic and fear among patients and hospital employees.
Legal Action Taken
Following this, on the direction of SP Lyallpur Town Abid Zafar, SHO Police Station Civil Lines Attique Shah registered a case against Muharrar Sohail, Hamza Nisaar, and 8 unidentified persons under Sections 506, 147, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Surprisingly, SP Lyallpur Town Abid Zafar forgot to replace Muharrar Sohail, as his name in the FIR appears both as an accused and in his official capacity as moharrar, creating a rather confusing and somewhat humorous situation for the police department.
Allegations of Bias
The complainant, Manager Radiology Block Rana Tajamal, has also alleged that police officials are pressuring them to remove Muharrar Sohail Ahmed’s name from the FIR and the relevant legal sections according to the incident have not been applied, and the police are showing bias in this matter.
CPO's Response
CPO Tanveer Hussain said that Muharrar Police Station Civil Line Muhammad Sohail has been closed to line and a new moharrar has been appointed. He added that a proper inquiry will be conducted into the matter, as no one is above the law. He further stated that measures will also be taken to brief and train police personnel to ensure they perform their duties in accordance with the law.
