LAHORE – The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Lahore has urged the federal government to immediately reduce petroleum prices in line with the recent decline in international crude oil rates, asserting that the move is essential to provide relief to citizens burdened by inflation.
Call for Price Reduction
PPP Lahore President Faisal Mir stated that the government should pass on the full benefit of falling global oil prices to the public by reducing the prices of petrol, diesel, and electricity. He also called for a relief package on essential commodities, including flour, sugar, ghee, and pulses.
Impact on Inflation
Mir emphasized that lower fuel prices would help reduce transportation costs and ease the overall burden of inflation on the public. He described the decline in international oil prices as a valuable opportunity for the government to provide relief, stressing that public welfare should remain its top priority.
He added that PPP Lahore would continue to advocate for measures aimed at protecting public interests and combating inflation. The party remains committed to pushing for policies that benefit the common man.
