The funeral of Rangers personnel who embraced martyrdom while thwarting a cowardly terrorist attack in Karachi was offered on Sunday, with top civil and military leadership standing shoulder to shoulder with the grieving families. The funeral, attended by a large gathering of mourners including Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Sindh Governor Nihal Hashmi, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, DG Rangers Sindh, families of the martyrs, and senior civil and military officials, was marked by an atmosphere of profound grief and national resolve.
Mourners Pay Tribute
The mourners paid glowing tributes to the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs and expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Speaking on the occasion, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi struck a defiant note, declaring: "This terrorist incident is deeply tragic, and its account will be settled. The terrorist elements - wherever they may be - will be pursued by our security forces and brought to justice. No stone will be left unturned in ensuring that the perpetrators face the full force of the law."
Governor Condemns Attack
Governor Hashmi condemned the attack in the strongest possible terms, saying: "We strongly condemn terrorism and will continue our struggle for its complete eradication from the country. Indian-sponsored terrorism will never be tolerated. We will not rest until terrorism is uprooted entirely from our soil."
Chief Minister Salutes Martyrs
Chief Minister Shah paid rich tributes to the fallen heroes, stating: "The brave Rangers personnel attained martyrdom while foiling the nefarious designs of terrorists. We salute their courage and sacrifice. We stand firmly with the security forces in the complete elimination of terrorism from the country."
Final Rites
After the funeral prayers, the coffins of the martyrs were dispatched to their ancestral towns, where they will be laid to rest with full military honours in solemn ceremonies attended by their loved ones and local dignitaries.
