Gilani Engages with EU High Representative Kaja Kallas
Islamabad: Former Prime Minister and Senate Chairman Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani engaged in an informal dialogue with HE Kaja Kallas, the first female Prime Minister of Estonia and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who also serves as Vice-President of the European Commission. The meeting took place during a luncheon hosted in her honor by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar.
During the interaction, the Senate Chairman warmly welcomed HE Kaja Kallas and commended her visit to Pakistan, describing it as a significant step toward further strengthening Pakistan-European Union relations. He emphasized the importance of enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and the EU in various fields, including trade, economic partnership, and regional stability.
The informal discussion allowed both leaders to exchange views on matters of mutual interest, reflecting the shared commitment to deepening bilateral ties. The meeting was marked by a cordial atmosphere, underscoring Pakistan's desire to build a robust partnership with the European Union.
This engagement comes at a time when Pakistan is actively seeking to bolster its diplomatic and economic relations with the EU, which remains a key partner in development and global governance.
