Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has embarked on a significant diplomatic mission to China. He will co-chair the seventh round of the Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue in Beijing on January 4, 2026.

High-Level Invitation and Pre-Departure Meeting

The visit is happening at the formal invitation of Wang Yi, who serves as China's Minister for Foreign Affairs, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs. Prior to his departure, Dar held a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, on Monday afternoon. Ambassador Jiang conveyed seasonal greetings and New Year wishes from Foreign Minister Wang Yi. In response, Dar thanked China for its steadfast support of Pakistan's sovereignty and development, reaffirming Pakistan's unwavering commitment to the One-China principle.
