Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a detailed meeting on Sunday to review the overall security situation in the country and discuss arrangements for the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) elections.
Security Review
During the meeting, the two leaders assessed the current law and order situation, with a particular focus on the security challenges faced by the region. They emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all law enforcement agencies to ensure peace and stability.
GB Election Preparations
The discussion also centered on the preparations for the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly elections. Both officials stressed the importance of conducting free, fair, and transparent elections. They directed the relevant authorities to ensure the provision of a secure environment for voters and candidates.
The interior minister briefed the prime minister on the security plan devised for the polling day, including the deployment of additional personnel and the use of modern surveillance technology. He assured that all necessary measures were being taken to prevent any untoward incident.
The meeting was also attended by senior officials from the interior ministry and security agencies, who provided detailed briefings on the ground situation.
