Purpose of the Flag March
According to police officials, the flag march aimed to express Islamabad police’s commitment to establishing peace and order while promoting unity and solidarity during Muharram-ul-Haram. The procession started from Pakistan Sports Complex, traversed multiple city routes, and concluded back at the complex.
Security Measures for Muharram
SSP (Operations) Islamabad stated that all measures are being taken for foolproof security arrangements for all gatherings and processions during Muharram-ul-Haram. He directed concerned authorities to ensure compliance with the code of conduct and standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued for the religious observance.
Special monitoring is also being carried out on social media platforms. Raza warned that legal action will be taken against those who spread religious and sectarian hatred. He emphasized that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands and expressed hope that peace-loving citizens of Islamabad will fully cooperate with police and administration in ensuring peace and order.
