Six Children Die in Shangla Roof Collapse

SHANGLA - At least six children lost their lives and a girl was injured after the roof of a room collapsed in Rahimabad, Kozah Alpuri area of Shangla district, according to rescue officials on Tuesday.

Incident Details

Rescue 1122 reported that seven children were trapped under the debris when the roof suddenly caved in. Upon receiving the emergency call, rescue teams rushed to the scene and immediately launched a rescue operation. Rescue personnel worked tirelessly to retrieve the children from the rubble.

Despite their efforts, six children were pronounced dead, while one girl was miraculously pulled out alive and transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Hospital sources confirmed that the injured girl received first aid before being shifted for further treatment.

Rescue Operation

The rescue operation was conducted under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Shangla, Engineer Malik Sher Dil Khan. Officials stated that all available resources were utilized to complete the operation and recover all those trapped beneath the debris.

Meanwhile, police said the incident occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. The owner of the affected house was identified as Fazal Dad.

Victims Identified

The deceased children were identified as Nazira Bibi (14), Samira Bibi (13), Rizwan (4), Nayab (8), Haya Noor (4–5) and Umaira (12–13). The injured survivor was identified as Marwa, 11 years old.
