Hyderabad Police arrested 12 accused individuals in separate operations and recovered a large quantity of gutka sachets and liquor bottles from their possession, according to a police spokesperson. In a significant breakthrough, SITE Police foiled a major attempt to smuggle harmful gutka via a car. During the operation, the suspects tried to escape, causing the vehicle to overturn. Police arrested accused Shafqat Ansari and recovered approximately 9,790 gutka sachets from his possession. The police also seized an Alto car bearing registration number BUN-349 and registered a case against the accused.
Other Operations Across Hyderabad
Meanwhile, Tandojam Police arrested accused Rehmatullah Tanwri and recovered 46 liquor bottles, while his accomplice managed to escape. A case has been registered against the suspects. In another operation, Pinyari Police arrested Saddam Jatoi, Sajjad Arain, Muhammad Hanif Shah, and Ateeq Shah, recovering 460 packets of Mainpuri. A case has been registered against them.
Further Arrests and Seizures
Similarly, B-Section Police arrested accused Faizan Malik and Saleem Ghauri and recovered four liquor bottles from their possession. On the other hand, A-Section Police arrested Junaid Shaikh, Abdul Sami Shaikh, and Gajjo Jandwar, recovering 300 gutka packets. Police also arrested proclaimed offender Shah Rukh Shaikh in a separate action related to a pending case.
These operations are part of a continued effort by Hyderabad Police to curb the illegal trade of harmful substances and contraband items in the region. The authorities have registered cases against all arrested individuals and are conducting further investigations.
