Dobrev and Wesley Reunite for Hulu Mystery You Deserve to Know

Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley, stars of The Vampire Diaries, are reuniting on screen for You Deserve to Know, a murder mystery drama now in development at Hulu. According to Deadline, the series is based on Aggie Blum Thompson's 2025 novel of the same name and is being adapted by Grand Hotel creator Brian Tanen. The project is produced by Alex Cooper's Unwell, Aaron Kaplan's Kapital Entertainment, and 20th Television.

Plot and Characters

Dobrev and Wesley will play Gwen and Scott, neighbors who find themselves on opposite sides of a murder investigation after one of their close friends dies. The story follows three suburban couples whose long-standing friendships unravel as hidden secrets emerge in the wake of the killing. The series explores how the death exposes cracks in their relationships and the dark truths they have kept hidden.

Executive Production Team

In addition to starring, Dobrev and Wesley will serve as executive producers alongside Tanen, Thompson, Cooper, Matt Kaplan, Mina Lefevre, and Aaron Kaplan. This marks a significant reunion for the actors, who portrayed Elena Gilbert and Stefan Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries, a role that made them central to one of television's most memorable love triangles. Dobrev left the series before its final season but returned for the finale.
