Oliver Tree Dies in Helicopter Crash in Brazil
Oliver Tree has been remembered by former partner Melanie Martinez, KSI, Diplo and several other figures from the music and entertainment industries following his death at the age of 32 in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. According to reports, Tree was among six people killed when two helicopters collided over the Brazilian city on Sunday. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
Emotional Tributes from Celebrities
Martinez paid an emotional tribute on Instagram Stories, describing Tree as a true artist with a soft heart. She wrote, “Been an absolute wreck today. It’s really hard to understand how someone who you once shared such a specific and formative time of your life with can all of a sudden be gone.” She added, “Rest in peace Oliver. I know you’re making the angels giggle.”
KSI, who collaborated with Tree on the song “Voices”, wrote on X, “You’re 32 man. You should still be here. You still had so much life to live. So much music to make.”
Kid Cudi described Tree as “a really amazing and beautiful human”, while Bebe Rexha said she was “in shock”, remembering him as “smart”, “passionate”, “talented” and “kind”.
Diplo called Tree his “dream collaborator”, writing, “I don't think we'll ever have another human like this again.” T-Pain thanked the singer for “sharing your art and for always being different in the best way possible”.
Whitney Cummings said, “We lost a giant,” while Andy Milonakis, Steve-O and others also shared tributes honouring Tree’s creativity, generosity and distinctive personality.

The American singer-songwriter was in the midst of his ambitious world tour and had upcoming UK dates scheduled for September.
