Matt Damon has shared that his four daughters have developed into seasoned travellers after years of accompanying him on work trips around the world. The Oscar-winning actor told People exclusively that his career has allowed his family to explore numerous destinations, making travel one of their favourite shared activities.
Family Travel as a Shared Passion
"We are seasoned travellers in our family, just because I work all over the world. So my kids love to travel," Damon said. He shares daughters Alexia, 27, Isabella, 20, Gia, 17, and Stella, 15, with his wife Luciana Damon. Alexia is Luciana's daughter from a previous marriage; Damon has helped raise her since he and Luciana met in 2003 and married in 2005.
Joining the Press Tour for The Odyssey
The actor confirmed that his family will join him for much of the international press tour for Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic film The Odyssey, in which Damon stars as the legendary Greek hero Odysseus. "We're going to Europe, we're going to do premieres in Mumbai, Beijing and Seoul. It's a big push," Damon said. "I'll bring my family for a lot of it, so they can see some of these places."
Demanding Filming Conditions
The extensive tour follows what Damon described as one of the most physically demanding productions of his career. He previously revealed that there was "no special treatment" for anyone on set, with the cast and crew enduring harsh filming conditions together while shooting on location.
Water.org Initiative
Away from acting, Damon recently launched Get Blue, a new initiative through his nonprofit Water.org aimed at expanding access to safe drinking water worldwide.
Release Date for The Odyssey
The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan and featuring an ensemble cast including Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson, is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on July 17, 2026.
