Margot Robbie Shares Bizarre Bachelorette Celebration for Fictional Character
Australian actress Margot Robbie has opened up about an extraordinary and unconventional party organized by her close friends to mark the release of her upcoming film Wuthering Heights. During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Robbie recounted the details of this playful Los Angeles gathering, which was themed as a bachelorette party for her character, Catherine Earnshaw.
A Surprising Tribute to Cathy Earnshaw
Robbie admitted that she initially believed the idea was nothing more than a humorous prank. "My friends, who are amazing, threw a bachelorette for Cathy," she explained. "I kind of thought it was a joke at first." The actress recalled the moment her friends enthusiastically chanted, "Cathy's bach, Cathy's bach!" before she realized the event was genuinely happening. "I was like, 'Wait, are we really going to have a fake bachelorette for an imaginary character?' They were like, 'Yes, absolutely.'"
While Robbie chose to keep some aspects of the evening private, citing "girl code" as the reason, she did confirm that the dress code was described as "Victorian sl**ty." For the occasion, she wore a stunning white lace corset dress, adding to the unique atmosphere of the night.
An Unforgettable and Wild Experience
Describing the party, Robbie emphasized its chaotic and memorable nature. "It was the most unhinged experience of my life. First of all, it was the funnest Wednesday night I've ever had in my life," she shared. The event included a screening of the romantic drama, which turned out to be particularly lively. "It was 20 women who were like frothing at the mouth. They were like rabid dogs," Robbie joked. "They were a couple of drinks in already, and then the movie started, and they were screaming so much... there was constant commentary and screaming."
Co-Star Jacob Elordi's Lucky Absence
In another amusing revelation from the interview, Robbie mentioned that it was fortunate her co-star Jacob Elordi did not attend the screening. Elordi plays Heathcliff in the film, which is loosely inspired by Emily Brontë's classic 1847 novel. "I was like, 'If he walked in right now, I think they would eat him,'" she laughed, highlighting the intense and enthusiastic reaction of the attendees.
Directed by Emerald Fennell, Wuthering Heights is scheduled for release on February 13, adding to the anticipation surrounding this modern adaptation. Robbie's candid storytelling offers a glimpse into the creative and fun-loving spirit behind the scenes of the film's promotion.
