The Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, officially inaugurated the Korea-Pakistan Education Corridor (KPEC) Expo in Islamabad, emphasizing that Pakistan's youth represent a critical asset for achieving national development objectives and meeting global workforce demands. During his address, the Minister praised the Republic of Korea as a model of innovation, industrial progress, and self-reliance, stating that Pakistan can draw valuable lessons from its development trajectory. He asserted that strengthened educational linkages between the two countries would open new avenues for Pakistani students while contributing to the development of a skilled and competitive workforce.
Expanding Bilateral Educational Cooperation
The Korea-Pakistan Education Corridor, launched under the Consortium of Asia-Pacific and Eurasian Studies, aims to enhance cooperation in higher education, promote academic exchange, and expand opportunities for skills development and student mobility between Pakistan and South Korea. Distinguished speakers at the event included Syed Moazzam H. Khan, Dr. Choi Jong-in, and Dr. Anis Ahmad, each highlighting different dimensions of bilateral educational cooperation. Ambassador Khan noted that four Korean language centers have already been established in Lahore, with plans underway to expand similar facilities to Islamabad. He stated that such initiatives would strengthen linguistic access and deepen educational and professional linkages between the two countries.
Commitment to Academic Collaboration
Dr. Choi Jong-in reaffirmed Tongwon University's commitment to academic collaboration with Pakistan and expressed readiness to further facilitate student exchange and mobility programs. Dr. Anis Ahmad encouraged students to pursue education not only for personal advancement but also with a broader commitment to social responsibility and global engagement. The event concluded with a shared resolve to expand bilateral cooperation in education through sustained partnerships, academic exchanges, and capacity-building initiatives aimed at empowering future generations in both Pakistan and South Korea.
