IESCO Reorganises AMI Billing Batch Numbers for Rawalpindi Consumers

The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has reorganised the billing batch numbers of consumers using Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meters in the Rawalpindi City and Rawalpindi Cantonment circles. The move is part of efforts to ensure timely, accurate and transparent meter reading, according to an IESCO spokesperson.

The changes have been introduced following a directive issued by Chief Engineer (Commercial) Ghulam Sarwar through Letter No. 4121-29, dated July 1, 2026. The spokesperson said the reorganisation is intended to streamline the automatic meter-reading system, which is one of the principal objectives of the AMI project, and improve the efficiency of the billing process.

Details of the Batch Merging

Under the revised arrangement, old billing batch numbers 1 and 2 have been merged into new batch number 17; batches 3 and 4 into batch 18; batches 5 and 6 into batch 19; batches 7 and 8 into batch 20; batches 9 and 10 into batch 21; batches 11 and 12 into batch 22; batches 13, 14 and 15 into batch 23; while batches 24 and 25 have been consolidated into new batch number 31.

IESCO advised consumers using AMI meters to obtain their updated electricity bill reference numbers through the Consumer ID printed on their existing electricity bills or by visiting the IESCO website. The company emphasised that these changes are designed to enhance billing accuracy and transparency for all affected consumers.
