Six Terrorists Killed in Lower Dir Operation

Six terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire between security forces and militants in the Brichar area of Talash, Lower Dir, officials confirmed. The operation was carried out jointly by district police, the Elite Force, and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in the mountainous region of Brichar.

Militants Involved in Terrorist Activities

Officials said the slain militants were involved in several terrorist activities, including an attack on a police checkpost and the killing of a police officer. The identified militants among those killed were Khalil-ur-Rehman, Naeem-ud-Din, and Kifayatullah.

Weapons Recovered and Search Operation

The CTD said six Kalashnikov rifles and three hand grenades were recovered from the militants during the operation. A search operation is continuing in the area to trace and arrest their accomplices who managed to escape.

Officials Commend Operation

The Inspector General of Police said operations against terrorism would continue until militancy is completely eradicated from the province. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the successful operation in Lower Dir and praised the CTD and police personnel for their professionalism and bravery. He said the security forces had foiled the “evil designs” of militants and expressed pride in the courage and dedication shown by CTD and police officials during the operation.
