Geo-Tagging of 838,555 Manholes Completed in Punjab

The Punjab government has completed geo-tagging of 838,555 manholes across the province, while net meshes have been installed in more than 3,000 manholes in various cities, according to a spokesperson for the Punjab government.

Net Mesh Installation and Community Involvement

On the directions of the Punjab chief minister, net meshes are being installed in all manholes around the clock. The business community and civil society are also participating in this process.

Pre-Monsoon De-Silting Completed in 41 Cities

For the first time in 41 cities of Punjab, the de-silting of drains and sewer lines has been completed ahead of the monsoon season. During this process, approximately 550 tonnes of silt and slurry were removed, the spokesperson informed.

Infrastructure Upgrades

New durable covers have been installed on 200,000 manholes. Additionally, 91 jetting and suction machines, 77 desilting machines, and 100 de-watering sets are being provided to different cities before the monsoon. Various development projects are in the process of completion in 51 cities.

Cleaning of Drain and Sewer Systems

The cleaning of the 196-km long rainwater drain system and 3,497-km long sewer lines has been completed. These projects were completed on the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif within the stipulated time while ensuring quality.
