Boosting Bilateral Ties

The prime minister highlighted the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and China, emphasizing that such investments would further strengthen economic cooperation. He noted that the digital economy hub aligns with Pakistan's Vision 2025 and Digital Pakistan initiative.

Job Creation and Skills Development

The project is anticipated to generate direct employment for over 10,000 professionals in the first phase, with potential for indirect job creation in related sectors. The hub will also focus on skills development, offering training programs in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.

The Chinese firm's representatives expressed their commitment to the project, citing Pakistan's favorable investment policies and strategic location. They stated that the hub would serve as a regional center for digital services, catering to markets in South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East.

Officials from the Ministry of Information Technology and the Board of Investment were also present during the meeting, assuring the delegation of necessary regulatory approvals and incentives.

The announcement comes as Pakistan seeks to attract foreign direct investment in its technology sector, which has seen significant growth in recent years. The digital economy hub is expected to be operational within two years, subject to final agreements.
