Meta's $59 Charging Stand for Smart Glasses: Features and Compatibility
Meta's $59 Charging Stand for Smart Glasses: Features

Meta has introduced a dedicated Charging Stand for its smart glasses, priced at $59 on the company's website. This accessory allows users to display their glasses on a desk or nightstand while charging, serving as both a functional and aesthetic addition to the home or office.

Design and Build

The stand resembles a metal tube with a groove designed to hold the glasses securely during charging. Its shell is made from stainless steel, and a silicone rubber footpad on the bottom prevents sliding on desktop surfaces. The stand stands just under two inches tall and weighs 108 grams, roughly the weight of a bar of soap, making it easy to nudge accidentally. An LED light at the top indicates charging status: orange while charging and green when fully charged.

Charging Performance and Compatibility

According to Meta, the stand can fully charge the glasses in just over an hour, with a quick charge to 50 percent in about 20 minutes. Unlike the portable charging case, this stand requires a constant USB-C connection, making it suitable for stationary use. The Meta Charging Stand is not compatible with Meta Ray-Ban Display or Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses models. However, it supports several models including the Wayfarer, Skylar, and Headliner Ray-Ban models, as well as Meta's new, more affordable smart glasses lineup. Delivery estimates for orders placed now show Thursday, June 25th.
