LAHORE: Wildlife Rangers have successfully rescued a rare migratory flamingo that was found injured in a suburban area of Chichawatni. The bird has been shifted to Joharabad Wildlife Park for treatment and rehabilitation.
Rescue Operation Details
A spokesperson for the Wildlife Department stated that the rescue operation was initiated after receiving information that local residents were keeping the injured bird near a canal. A rescue team promptly responded and took custody of the rare migratory flamingo, which was unable to fly due to an injured leg.
Immediate Veterinary Care
The flamingo was immediately transferred to Joharabad Wildlife Park, where veterinary treatment was initiated. Fareeha Batool, the in-charge of the wildlife park, confirmed that the flamingo would remain under professional care until it achieves a full recovery.
The rescue highlights the ongoing efforts of wildlife authorities to protect rare and migratory bird species in the region. The flamingo's condition is being monitored closely, and it is expected to be released back into the wild once it regains its strength and ability to fly.
