A missing police official was discovered dead in the Karbogha Sharif area within the limits of Doaba in Hangu district on Sunday. According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Sher Nawaz, an officer of the Orakzai Police who had been missing since June 1.
Details of the Incident
Station House Officer (SHO) Niaz Khattak stated that the officer was deployed at a police checkpoint in Buland Khel. Following his disappearance, police launched extensive search operations to locate him. After the body was recovered, it was taken into police custody and shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Investigation Underway
Police have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Officials said that the post-mortem report and preliminary evidence will help determine whether the case involves murder or another type of incident. The discovery of the cop’s body has raised security concerns in the area, and senior officials have ordered a full inquiry into the matter.
