The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a forecast predicting hot and dry weather conditions across Sindh province for the next 24 hours. According to the Met Office, most districts will experience extreme heat, with daytime temperatures expected to soar between 40 and 45 degrees Celsius. The highest temperatures are likely in Jacobabad, Larkana, and Dadu, where mercury may touch 46°C.
Regional Weather Outlook
In Karachi, the provincial capital, the weather will remain hot and humid, with the maximum temperature expected around 38°C. The sea breeze is likely to remain weak, adding to the discomfort. Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Mirpurkhas will also face intense heat, with temperatures ranging from 42°C to 44°C. The Met Office has advised residents to avoid unnecessary exposure to sunlight, especially during peak hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Health Advisory Issued
Health experts have warned that prolonged exposure to such high temperatures can lead to heatstroke and dehydration. They have recommended drinking plenty of water, wearing lightweight and light-colored clothing, and using umbrellas or hats when going outdoors. The elderly, children, and those with chronic illnesses are particularly vulnerable and should take extra precautions.
Farmers have also been advised to manage irrigation carefully, as the dry spell may affect crops. The Met Office has stated that no significant change in weather patterns is expected until the weekend, with hot and dry conditions persisting across Sindh. Authorities remain on alert to handle any heat-related emergencies.
