Hyderabad hit-and-run vehicle, driver traced after 3 months

HYDERABAD: The double-cab vehicle and its driver allegedly involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed three eatery workers and injured another in Hyderabad in the early hours of February 15 have reportedly been traced after nearly three months of investigation.

Incident Details

The incident occurred on Wadhu Wah Road near DHA Phase II when three employees of a local eatery were returning home after closing their restaurant in Naseem Nagar, Qasimabad. Their motorbikes were struck by a double-cab vehicle, resulting in the deaths of Akhtar Wahab Syed, Aleem Samejo and Naseer Mangrio, while another worker sustained injuries.

Investigation and Legal Proceedings

Following the accident, police registered an FIR on the complaint of Ameenul Wahab, brother of one of the deceased. However, investigators were initially unable to confirm the identity of the vehicle or its driver, despite the possibility that the route was under CCTV surveillance from key city arteries. Questions have since emerged over delays in tracing the suspects and the apparent lack of clarity in early police findings.
