In a significant move, Rs2.5 billion has been officially sanctioned for a comprehensive plan targeting the Cholistan area. Comprehensive Development Schemes for Cholistan
This massive allocation is part of 17 approved development schemes specifically designed for Cholistan. Beyond the roads, the approved plans include critical measures to enhance public service delivery. Position papers have been cleared for the procurement of 34 emergency response vehicles, which will allow for faster and more effective reactions to incidents in the vast desert. Furthermore, the government has approved the creation of 323 new human resource posts. These new positions will be crucial in staffing and supporting the improved services planned for the region's residents.
Boosting Tourism and Supporting Agriculture
In a separate but equally important decision, the provincial government has given the green light to a position paper for purchasing new vehicles for the Punjab Tourism Force. This initiative is intended to strengthen tourism operations across the entire province, facilitating better patrols, assistance, and promotion of tourist sites. On the agricultural front, the Provincial Development and Planning Department has cleared funding and vehicle procurement proposals for upgrading the Date Palm Research Sub-Station in Jhang.
Additional projects focusing on papaya varietal improvement, advanced crop management techniques, and controlling the Papaya Leaf Curl Virus have also been approved. These projects are set to provide vital support to agricultural research and boost overall productivity in the sector.

This wave of development approvals comes alongside a firm warning from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding economic processes. PM Shehbaz has warned against any delays in issuing refunds to exporters, emphasizing the need for a smooth and efficient system.
