Rain accompanied by strong winds swept through Lahore and its surrounding areas in the early hours of Wednesday, bringing a pleasant change to the weather. The precipitation, which began in the wee hours, caused disruptions in electricity supply across several parts of the city as multiple feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) tripped, leading to inconvenience for residents.
Areas Affected by Rainfall
According to reports, rain was recorded in various localities, including Defence, Ghazi Road, Ferozepur Road, Walton, Mall Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Gulshan Ravi, Jail Road, Gulberg, Garden Town, Kalma Chowk, Sanda, and other neighborhoods. The downpour, coupled with gusty winds, offered relief from the previous warm conditions.
Power Disruptions
The sudden rainfall caused technical faults in LESCO's network, resulting in power outages in several sectors. Authorities are working to restore electricity to the affected areas, though residents faced temporary hardships due to the interruptions.
Weather Forecast
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that the spell of rain will continue throughout the day. Further precipitation and strong winds are expected, which may maintain the pleasant weather but could also lead to additional disruptions.
