In a significant joint operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Bannu district, the Pakistan Army, Police, and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) neutralized 16 terrorists, including two key militant commanders. The operation, conducted in the Miryan area, also resulted in the martyrdom of two police personnel.
Operation Details
According to security sources, the joint operation was launched following intelligence reports of terrorist presence in the Miryan area. During the intense engagement, security forces killed 16 militants and destroyed several hideouts. Among the dead were high-profile commanders Zamri Noor and Abdullah Saeed. Zamri Noor was allegedly responsible for spreading fear in the region, while Abdullah Saeed was an Afghan militant commander.
Martyrdom of Police Personnel
Two police constables, Waheed Ullah Khan and Noor Ullah Khan, embraced martyrdom during the operation. Their funeral prayers were offered with full state honors at Police Lines Bannu, attended by senior civil and military officials, local elders, and a large number of citizens.
Security sources reiterated that security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue joint operations against terrorism until the last terrorist is eliminated. The operation underscores the commitment of Pakistan's security apparatus to eradicate militancy from the region.
