100kg Narcotics Seized in Peshawar, Two Arrested

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department confiscated a massive 100 kilograms of narcotic powder during a targeted operation in Peshawar on Thursday.

Operation Details and Arrests

The raid was executed by a team from the Excise Police Station of the Peshawar Region at a local warehouse. Authorities successfully apprehended two suspects at the scene. A formal case has been registered against them, and a comprehensive investigation is currently in progress.

The operation was conducted under the direct supervision of Excise and Taxation Officer Majid Khan and was led by Station House Officer Hameed Khan. Additional SHO Amjad Pracha and other personnel were also part of the successful action.

A Dangerous Consignment and Official Stance

Officials highlighted the severe danger posed by the seized material. The department stated that this type of powder is commonly mixed with heroin, methamphetamine (known as "ice"), and other illegal drugs to increase their strength, representing a significant threat to public health and safety.

The raid was carried out in strict adherence to the provincial government's zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, following directives issued by Excise Minister Syed Fakhar Jehan.
