Islamabad Police Apprehend Two Suspects in Nighttime Burglary Cases
In a significant law enforcement success, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have arrested two individuals accused of involvement in multiple nighttime burglary incidents. The operation, conducted within the jurisdiction of the Phulgran Police Station, led to the recovery of various stolen items, marking a notable crackdown on criminal activities in the area.
Targeted Operation Leads to Arrests
According to an official statement provided to APP on Tuesday, the operation was spearheaded by SHO Phulgran Muhammad Zubair Mazhar Iqbal, with his team under the leadership of ASI Mukhtar Nawaz. The police executed a targeted initiative aimed at addressing a series of burglary cases that have plagued the region. During this operation, the authorities successfully apprehended two suspects, identified as Umar Hussain, also known by the alias Honda, and Yasir Hussain Shah.
The arrests were made in connection with case No. 93/26, dated April 8, 2026, under sections 380, 457, and 411 of the Pakistan Penal Code. These charges pertain to theft, house-trespass, and dishonestly receiving stolen property, highlighting the serious nature of the offenses.
Recovery of Stolen Property and Further Investigations
Following the arrests, the police leveraged disclosures from the accused to recover stolen property linked to additional cases registered at the Phulgran Police Station. Specifically, the recovered items are associated with case Nos. 274/25 and 279/25. The seized goods included solar plates, fans, bathroom and kitchen equipment, and electric wires, indicating a pattern of targeting residential and commercial properties for valuable assets.
Further verification revealed that one of the accused, Umar Hussain alias Honda, has a prior criminal record. He was previously involved in case No. 315/24 under sections 381-A and 411 of the Pakistan Penal Code at the same police station, underscoring a history of similar illicit activities.
Legal Actions and Judicial Proceedings
In addition to the primary charges, separate preventive measures have been initiated against the accused under sections 55 and 110 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). These actions are designed to curb future criminal behavior and ensure public safety. The official confirmed that further investigation is currently underway, with plans to present the accused before a court of law for judicial remand, paving the way for legal proceedings.
This operation underscores the ICT Police's commitment to combating crime and enhancing security in Islamabad.
