Mohmand Embraces Digital Transformation with New Payment System
The District Administration of Mohmand has taken a significant step toward financial modernization by officially launching a digital cash payment system for the first time in the district's history. This groundbreaking initiative aims to transform traditional transaction methods and accelerate the shift toward a cashless economy across the region.
Mandatory Digital Accounts for Business Community
Under the newly implemented system, all shopkeepers have been directed to maintain active bank accounts along with EasyPaisa and JazzCash accounts to ensure seamless digital payment processing. The move comes as part of direct instructions from Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi and aligns perfectly with the provincial government's comprehensive digital economy policy.
District officials confirmed that digital payment facilities and employment opportunities have already commenced in various parts of Mohmand, with plans for district-wide implementation in the near future. To guarantee smooth adoption, the administration has launched extensive awareness campaigns and issued formal notifications to shopkeepers operating in local bazaars throughout the district.
Parallel Anti-Encroachment Drive in Ghalnai Bazaar
In a related development, the district administration conducted a rigorous anti-encroachment operation at Ghalnai Bazaar under the supervision of Tehsildar Halimzai Siyar Ahmad and DSP Nader Sher Khan. During the operation, shopkeepers received clear warnings against placing goods on government roads or sidewalks, with authorities emphasizing that strict legal action will follow any violations of these regulations.
To address traffic congestion concerns, authorities have implemented new restrictions requiring heavy vehicles to use the Ghalnai bypass instead of entering the main bazaar. Tehsildar Siyar Ahmad stressed that similar operations will continue across other bazaars in the district as part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow and prevent accidents.
The simultaneous implementation of digital payment infrastructure and urban management measures represents a comprehensive approach to district development, combining economic modernization with improved public space management for the benefit of all residents.
