Man Shoots Dead Ex-Wife and Mother-in-Law in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: A man shot dead his ex-wife and mother-in-law within the limits of Aabpara police station on Wednesday night, according to police reports.
Imrana Faraz, wife of Gulfaraz and a resident of sector G-6/1-4 Islamabad, told the Aabpara police that on June 17, 2026, her husband Gulfaraz, her mother Nikhat Yasmeen, and her younger sister Farhana Younis went to Race Course Police Station in Rawalpindi to pursue an application against Bilal Hussain, son of Haji Muhammad Hussain, who is the ex-husband of her sister Farhana Younis. From there, they returned by Metro Bus and then took an online taxi from the Metro Station to go home, she continued.
“I was in continuous contact with my husband on the phone,” Imrana stated in her application. She said that on June 17 at approximately 10:35 PM, when they reached Municipal Road near the house in a white Alto car, the vehicle stopped and her husband Gulfaraz got out. “At that moment, Bilal Hussain, who was my sister’s ex-husband and had divorced my sister Farhana Younis 3-4 days ago at the instigation of his father Muhammad Hussain, sisters Kainat and Amna, and brothers-in-law Naveed and another brother-in-law, suddenly appeared. He fired at my husband with the intention to kill, but fortunately, he survived. After that, Bilal Hussain, with the intention to kill, also fired a pistol shot at my sister and my mother, who were still in the car. Both sustained severe injuries from the gunshots and were immediately shifted to Polyclinic Hospital for medical treatment.”
Imrana said both succumbed to their injuries and passed away. “The motive for the enmity was property and a car in my sister’s name, which Bilal was constantly threatening to seize.” She further said that accused Bilal Hussain, at the instigation of his father, sisters, and brothers-in-law, unjustly killed her mother Nikhat Yasmeen and sister Farhana Younis by firing. “At the time of the incident, I was standing at the door of my house. The street lights and house lights were on, and in their illumination, I witnessed the entire incident with my own eyes. The accused fled after firing.”
The bodies of Ms. Nikhat Yasmeen, wife of Muhammad Younis, aged 60 years, and Ms. Farhana Younis, daughter of Muhammad Younis, aged 35 years, were shifted to Polyclinic Hospital. The police, upon receiving a written application from the complainant, registered an FIR under sections 302 and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Further investigation is underway with the accused still at large.
