District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmed on Sunday visited Paroa Circle to review security preparations for the forthcoming Muharram-ul-Haram procession at Babar Pakka, directing officers to ensure comprehensive arrangements for the peaceful conduct of the religious observance.
Inspection and Coordination
During the visit, the DPO inspected the designated procession route and held meetings with custodians and organisers to assess the security plan and discuss measures aimed at facilitating mourners while maintaining public order. DSP Paroa Imran Ullah Khattak and SHO Paroa accompanied him during the inspection.
Local police officials briefed the DPO on the deployment strategy, route management, surveillance mechanisms and contingency plans devised for the procession. He reviewed the proposed security layout and assessed the readiness of personnel assigned to perform duty during Muharram.
Instructions to Officers
Addressing the officers, Ziauddin Ahmed instructed them to maintain heightened vigilance throughout the holy month and ensure foolproof security at all sensitive locations. He emphasised the importance of strict monitoring of the procession route, effective coordination among law enforcement personnel and prompt action against any suspicious activity to safeguard participants and the general public.
The DPO directed officers to make optimum use of available resources and remain fully alert to any potential security challenges, stressing that maintaining peace and law and order during Muharram remained the district police’s foremost priority. He reaffirmed the police department’s commitment to providing a secure and peaceful environment for mourners, saying every possible measure would be taken to facilitate religious gatherings and ensure that all Muharram-related activities were conducted in a disciplined and orderly manner.
Broader Security Review
The visit is part of a broader district-wide review of security arrangements being undertaken by the police ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram, with inspections of key procession routes and congregation sites aimed at strengthening preparedness and reinforcing public confidence in the security plan.
