Gaza's Health Ministry announced on Monday that five more Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll since October 2023 to 73,098. In its daily statistical report, the ministry detailed that hospitals across Gaza received the bodies of five Palestinians over the past 24 hours, including three newly killed and two recovered from the rubble. Additionally, seven people were injured, pushing the total number of injuries to 173,571 during the same period.
Ceasefire Violations Continue
Despite a ceasefire that has been in effect since October 10, 2025, Israel has persisted with attacks, according to the ministry. During the truce period, 1,072 Palestinians have been killed and 3,463 others injured. The ministry noted that many victims remain trapped under rubble and on roads, inaccessible to ambulance and civil defence crews.
Infrastructure Destruction and Humanitarian Crisis
Israel has destroyed approximately 90% of Gaza's infrastructure during the war. The United Nations estimates reconstruction costs at roughly $70 billion. Israel continues to block the entry of agreed quantities of food, medicine, medical supplies, shelter materials, and prefabricated housing into Gaza. About 2.4 million Palestinians, including 1.5 million displaced people, are living in catastrophic conditions.
