Sharjeel Memon Condemns MQM's Tactics
Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has strongly reacted to MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar's press conference, accusing the party of relying on 'shortcut politics' instead of a public mandate. In a statement, Memon said that using issues like federal intervention as political pressure is evidence of MQM's political blackmail.
'MQM has lost public trust and is now yearning for power. It is looking for shortcuts,' he added. Memon emphasized that MQM should not use Karachi's resources as a tool for political bargaining.
Conspiracy Against Federal Structure
Memon described the talk of handing over Sindh's affairs to the federation as a 'malicious conspiracy against the federal structure.' He asserted that the people of Sindh have given a clear mandate to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), which cannot be changed by press conferences, threats, or political blackmail.
'Sindh, the 1973 Constitution, and the people's mandate are not a laboratory where parties attack whenever their politics weakens,' he stated.
Path to Power Through Votes
Sharjeel Memon said that if MQM wants a bigger share in power, 'the path goes through the people's vote.' He questioned why MQM, despite being part of the federal government, had failed to deliver on its promises to Karachi. 'Dr Farooq Sattar should question his federal allies instead of blaming the Sindh government for his failures,' he said.
The senior minister asserted there would be 'no compromise on Sindh's constitutional rights, provincial autonomy, and Karachi's public mandate.'
