Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of Pakistan's Armed Forces to defend the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity against all potential threats. This declaration came during his address to troops following a high-intensity field exercise named "Steadfast Resolve" at Khairpur Tamewali (KPT).
Emphasis on Future Battlefield Readiness
Field Marshal Asim Munir stressed the critical importance of maintaining optimum readiness to effectively address the evolving security challenges of the future battlefield. He highlighted that the character of warfare has undergone massive changes, largely driven by rapid technological advancements. These developments necessitate a significant mental transformation across all levels of the military hierarchy.
Technological Transformation in Armed Forces
The Army Chief pointed out that Pakistan's Armed Forces are currently undergoing a major transformation across multiple domains. He emphasized that in the coming years, technological manoeuvres will increasingly replace physical manoeuvres, fundamentally altering the methods used in both offensive and defensive operations. To keep pace with this shift, the forces are actively embracing and absorbing technology at an accelerated rate.
In this process, innovation, indigenization, and adaptation are set to remain fundamental pillars. This approach ensures that the military can develop self-reliant capabilities while effectively integrating global technological trends to enhance operational efficiency.
Initiatives for Education and Skill Development
Earlier in the day, Field Marshal Asim Munir inaugurated the ROHI eSkills Learning Hub (STP), a facility aimed at promoting digital skills and expanding learning opportunities for students. This initiative is particularly focused on benefiting youth from Southern Punjab and other regions across Pakistan, aligning with broader efforts to foster technological literacy and empowerment.
Additionally, he inaugurated the APS Abbasia Campus, reinforcing the Pakistan Army's commitment to providing quality education and character building for future generations. These steps underscore the military's role in supporting national development beyond traditional defense duties.
Visits to Military Facilities and Tributes to Martyrs
Later, the Army Chief visited the EME Regional Workshop, where he received a detailed briefing on maintenance regimes designed to sustain modern military platforms. The discussion covered the use of advanced technologies, indigenization efforts, and other combat support measures essential for maintaining operational readiness.
Upon his arrival at the Bahawalpur Garrison, Field Marshal Asim Munir was received by the Commander of the Bahawalpur Corps. He also paid homage to the nation's heroes by laying a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offering Fateha, honoring the supreme sacrifices made by martyrs in defense of Pakistan.
This series of engagements highlights the Pakistan Army's dual focus on enhancing defense capabilities through technological advancement while simultaneously contributing to educational and skill development initiatives across the country.
